Job Description

This role operates heavy construction equipment on a large data center project, with a focus on scraper operation and support of earthwork and site development activities.

Responsibilities

• Operate CAT 657 scrapers safely and efficiently to support earthmoving and grading activities on the project site
• Operate rollers to compact soil and other materials according to project specifications
• Drive and operate haul trucks to transport materials around the site in a safe and timely manner
• Operate water trucks to control dust and support compaction and site preparation work
• Operate D8 dozers for pushing, grading, and shaping earthwork to meet design and quality standards
• Use excavators to perform digging, trenching, and material handling tasks as required
• Apply Tremble-based machine control systems and GPS technology to perform precise grading and earthwork
• Conduct pre-operation inspections and routine checks on equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation
• Follow all site safety procedures, traffic patterns, and equipment operation guidelines
• Communicate effectively with site supervisors and crew members to coordinate equipment movements and work sequences
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and report any equipment issues or hazards promptly

Essential Skills

• Proven experience operating heavy equipment, including scrapers, rollers, haul trucks, water trucks, and D8 dozers
• Hands-on experience operating CAT 657 scrapers on construction or earthwork projects
• Ability to operate excavators for digging and material handling tasks
• Demonstrated proficiency with Tremble machine control and GPS systems for grading and earthwork
• Strong understanding of safe operating practices for heavy equipment on active construction sites
• Ability to read and follow directions from supervisors and project plans related to equipment work
• Reliable work habits, including punctuality and consistent adherence to safety protocols

Work Environment

This position is based on an active data center construction site, working outdoors and in varying weather conditions. The role involves operating heavy equipment for extended periods, navigating uneven terrain, and adhering to strict site safety and traffic protocols. Work is typically performed on a full-time schedule aligned with construction hours, which may include early mornings and occasional extended days as project needs require. Appropriate workwear such as durable clothing, safety boots, and required personal protective equipment (PPE) is expected in accordance with site safety standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hereford, TX.

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Hereford,TX.
