Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) provides essential clinical support in an urgent care setting by performing patient vital sign collection, assisting with procedures, administering injections, and conducting laboratory tests. This role requires strong organizational skills, proficiency with EPIC charting, and the ability to work a structured schedule including weekends. The MA-C ensures efficient patient flow and collaborates closely with healthcare providers to deliver high-quality outpatient care.

Responsibilities:

• Obtain and record vital signs including height/weight, 12-lead EKG/ECG, pulse oximetry, and vision testing
• Record patient history, medications, and allergies accurately
• Prepare exam rooms and assist providers with procedures such as nebulizer treatments
• Administer injections including immunizations and intramuscular shots
• Collect and label specimens such as throat swabs and urine samples for analysis
• Perform laboratory tests including blood glucose, pregnancy, strep, and urine dipstick/urinalysis
• Stock medical supplies and maintain exam room readiness
• Administer medications and perform ear lavage as needed
• Room patients promptly and assist with patient flow management

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) credential (MA-R, MA-P, or MA-HT not accepted)
• Minimum 6 months experience as an MA-C in adult/pediatric outpatient clinic
• Previous travel experience as a Medical Assistant
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record system
• Reliable personal transportation for travel within Washington State

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working in urgent care or similar fast-paced outpatient environments
• Flexibility and willingness to convert to permanent employment

Special Considerations:

• Must work weekend shifts including every Saturday
• No on-call or float requirements; work is at a single fixed location per shift
• Scrub color to be determined by employer

Scheduling:

• Two 12-hour shifts and two 8-hour shifts per week
• Specific shifts: Monday 7:45 AM 8:15 PM, Thursday 7:45 AM 8:15 PM, Friday 9:00 AM 5:30 PM, Saturday 7:45 AM 4:15 PM
• Days off: Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday
