Who- the Company:

Swim Recruiting is conducting a confidential search on behalf of an AI and media technology company operating across Canada, the United States, and various countries in Europe.
The company delivers in an integrated solution with one connected platform. They are not selling new hardware, they are not pushing a major system change. They are taking data and intelligence that customers often already have, and strategically connecting the information to monetize real results. So far the company has over 50 clients in 4+ countries and their product is being used in thousands of locations.   Following a recent reverse takeover and stock exchange listing, the organization has entered its next phase of growth: scaling their proven platform into new markets and verticals while continuing to build the capital markets profile of a public growth company.

What- the Role: 

Swim Recruiting has been engaged on the search for a new Global Chief Financial Officerwhose primary mandate is capital: raising it, structuring it, and building the relationships that keep it flowing.
This is not a back-office finance role. We are looking for a strategic, externally-facing CFO who treats fundraising as a core competency…  someone who has done it before, at scale, and who arrives with an active network of institutional investors, private credit and structured finance providers, investment bankers, and strategic partners ready to engage from day one.
The new CFO will own the company's capital strategy end to end: from bridge financing and working capital facilities today, to equity raises, debt facilities, and potential strategic or M&A-related financing as the company scales post-listing. They will be a primary ambassador of the company to the capital markets, working alongside the Founder & Chairman and Global COO to translate the growth story into funding.
This is a rare opportunity to be the architect of the capital strategy for a newly public, fast-scaling technology company, with direct access to the Founder & Chairman and a seat at the leadership table shaping the organization's next chapter.

What- the Responsibilities:

Capital Raising & Investor Relations

• Lead all fundraising activity across the capital stack — equity, debt, convertible instruments, bridge financing, and structured/asset-based facilities (e.g., LC and credit facilities tied to inventory and deployment cycles).
• Own investor relations for a TSXV-listed company, managing relationships with existing shareholders, institutional investors, analysts, and market makers.
• Build and run a pipeline of prospective investors, lenders, and strategic capital partners, and personally lead high-stakes negotiations through to close.

Strategic Relationships & Network

• Bring and actively maintain a strong network of senior relationships across venture capital, private equity, private credit funds, merchant banks, family offices, and institutional lenders.
• Represent the company with investment banks, corporate finance advisors, and TSXV/securities market participants.
• Identify and cultivate relationships with strategic partners and potential acquirers/acquisition targets as the company evaluates inorganic growth opportunities.

Financial & Capital Markets Strategy

• Develop and continuously refine the company's overall capital strategy, funding roadmap, and capital structure — balancing dilution, cost of capital, and growth speed.
• Partner with the Founder & Chairman, Global COO, and Board on corporate development, M&A evaluation, and long-range financial planning.
• Own the financial narrative for the company, including investor decks, corporate updates, and public disclosure in coordination with securities counsel.

Governance & Core Finance Oversight

• Ensure the finance function — including reporting, treasury, and compliance — meets the standards of a public company, working with country/regional finance leads across Canada, the US, Europe, and Turkey.
• Ensure all financing activity is structured and disclosed in compliance with TSXV and applicable securities requirements.
• Present regularly to the Board and Audit Committee on capital position, funding strategy, and financial performance.

Who- The Candidate:

• 15+ years of senior finance leadership, with a demonstrated track record of personally leading and closing capital raises (equity and/or debt), ideally across multiple cycles and in more than one financing environment.
• Direct experience as a CFO, Head of Corporate Development, or senior capital markets executive at a public company (listed on a Canadian or American stock exchange), ideally a post-RTO or recent-IPO business.
• A healthy, active and current network of relationships across North American (and ideally into UK, Europe, and Asia!) with institutional investors, private credit/structured finance providers, investment banks, and family offices. This network is a requirement of the role, not a nice-to-have.
• Strong grounding in Canadian and/or American public company finance, securities regulation, and governance.
• Proven ability to build the financial narrative and materials that support capital raising, including investor decks, financial models, and data rooms.
• Comfortable operating at both altitudes — the strategic capital-raising mandate and enough command of the underlying financials to be credible with investors, lenders, and the Board.
• Experience in technology, AI/analytics, media, or adjacent sectors is highly preferred, almost required.. however we will consider CFOs with highly relevant work experience and networks who perhaps haven’t yet worked in this space.
• Willingness to travel regularly across the company's markets in North America, UK, and Europe.

How Much:

The new CFO will receive a healthy base salary commensurate with depth and breadth of work experience and relevant of investor networks, in the range of $200,000 to $350,000 USD. The upside for this role is robust and generous. The CFO will be eligible for a strong annual bonus program, equity, and quarterly commissions. The Founder would love to see their CFO’s total earnings increase in-step with the company’s growth. We are looking for a CFO who thrives on having “skin in the game”, and who is highly motivated by the potential rewards of their sweat equity, corporate finance savvy, and successful capital raising activities.

Where:

Home base of New York, with frequent business travel across North America, as well occasional trips to the UK, Europe, and potentially Asia. Must have a valid passport and no travel restrictions.
